The "Footprints" series
are made from a substantial weight of gold, which makes an interesting
investment gift to oneself, or a special person. They are made from 18k
yellow and rose gold and sometimes Platinum.
The spiral in the heel of
the foot, reminiscent of the oft-seen hand, is a creation inspired by
my "footing it", over many hiking and backpacking trails (including
500 miles of the Colorado Trail), and a love of "wild" natural surroundings.
Hand-cut 18k yellow gold leaves encircle the finger. A highly textured
rose gold footprint, also hand-cut, is placed atop the leaves, making
a great contrast of texture and color. Small gemstones may be added also.
Necklaces, with or without a leaf set on the foot, makes a delicate but
impactful statement. Especially for those travelers who have set foot
on many continents, scaled mountains, hiked forest valleys… and even those
who dive in the underwater mountain vistas.
Reflecting on our global footing, the "Footprints" design is unusual and
points to the very real probability of gold becoming another rare resource,
as some expect it to be "mined out" in a relatively short period of time.
