This was commissioned by a friend who lived
on Maui. On a visit I gathered black sand
pebbles which I carved for jewelry.

Repousse is an ancient form of metalsmithing and
usually goes hand in hand with Chasing.

It requires a bowl of pitch, chasing tools, hammers, stakes and the ability to think "backwards" while working. It is a challenging and very rewarding
skill to master.
